Lesbian Lovers
27" x 40"
1967
My feminist fantasy was that love between women would be equal but it turned out that one was more dominant. Or what we today call being a top or a bottom. Equality continues to be some kind of goal or maybe it's just a myth. At best we can simply agree to take turns as to who will run the fuck.
Hysterical Arch
14" x 11"
1969
After Wilhem Reich's concept of the body curling up for orgasm NOT arching back (which cuts off sensation to the genitals), I did this drawing.
Embrace
Romantic love dies hard.
Resurrection
This is a six foot drawing of a Christ-like figure with an erection that was a lot of fun to draw.
The Judgment of Paris
16" x 24"
xmas card 1964
This was the last drawing of the Christmas card series when I was married. What's so great about it is that Paris is Fred and I'm the middle grace that he chooses but the truth is that he ran off with his secretary not long after.
The Hug
28" x 40"
1968
Part of the Love Picture Series. This one was bought by my girlfriend in Amsterdam.
Madonna
*sigh*
Lovers
I love the colors in this painting.
Mother & Daughter
In the early 60's I was focused on painting the nuclear family in an effort to understand why it continued to prevail because it is so impossible.
Woman with Her Cat
26" x 41"
1963
During my marriage, my most meaningful love affair was with my cat Toot.
