My Year Book Entry
I transcribed this from my year book circa 1946 in the 80's. My interests shifted from "boys" and "sobriety" to "female sexual liberation" and "the magic herb".
Sexless Marriage
38" x 46"
1960
This really illustrates my emotional state when I realized I was looking at a basically sexless marriage with a premature ejaculating husband.
Group Sex
50" x 45"
1973
My personal conflict in group sex - because women were not equal always- interfered with my ability to depict it as a joyful experience.
Self-Portrait in my 80's
With age, you care less and less about what other people think. By your 80's, you don't give two fucks.
The Nuclear Family
45" x 56"
1964
The baby is trapped within the mother and father's power struggle.
Lovers
13" x 10"
1970
This was a sketch for a large canvas that got sold (I don't think I have a photo of it).
Nude Portrait of Romy
colored pencil/pastel
27" x 40"
1969
We were non-monogamous lovers for two years but friends to the end.
Lesbian Lovers
27" x 40"
1967
My feminist fantasy was that love between women would be equal but it turned out that one was more dominant. Or what we today call being a top or a bottom. Equality continues to be some kind of goal or maybe it's just a myth. At best we can simply agree to take turns as to who will run the fuck.
Hysterical Arch
14" x 11"
1969
After Wilhem Reich's concept of the body curling up for orgasm NOT arching back (which cuts off sensation to the genitals), I did this drawing.
Embrace
Romantic love dies hard.
