I came to Bodysex late in life, attending one of Betty’s and Carlin’s last workshops in November 2019. It was the beginning of my slowly unfolding, challenging, exciting journey to understanding and being comfortable with my body and my sexuality.
As my Bodysex experience opened some major and very unanticipated changes for me, I was drawn to getting certified with the goal of working with women who grew up with traditional gender roles, lack of sex education, madonna/whore complex, body shaming, and emphasis on both female passivity and the importance of pleasing your man. Being able to love our bodies and own our pleasure is the foundation to enabling ourselves to value and take broader control of our lives, to feel more joy and connection, and to bring much-needed change to the world.
My goal is to make the benefits of Bodysex accessible to women, particularly “women of a certain age” and am happy to talk with any vulva owners interested in learning more about how to access this power within themselves. Change is often difficult and scary, but it can also be exhilarating and liberating, AND we are never too old to embrace it. I look forward to seeing where it takes me and how I am able to open possibilities to change for other women, especially women like me.
