Better Orgasms. Better World.
Maybe the title is an exaggeration; but, for one reason or another, my vagina hates unprotected sex. Besides the sex I had when I was in movies, there was no unprotected sex for me. Totally swore against it. Sure, I didn't mind the sheathless blow job now and then. It's an amateurish attitude, I know. But, I don't expect a guy to package his tongue to service me. Nor do I think I could bust out a rubber.
Going down is at the very edge of "sex" as we knew it. Besides heterosexual penetration, all other acts can pretty much be enjoyed by all to various degrees. There's anal sex... than the oral pleasures of cunnilingus and fellatio. If I can't have some sort of enjoyably condomless pleasure, then it just doesn't feel real to me.
Hi Betty,
My boyfriend and I are in a long-distance relationship, so we haven't seen each other since New Year's and we won't see each other until early March. The months leading up to my return to the US, I noticed a gradual build-up of a sort of tickling feeling when I peed, which grew a bit uncomfortable. Around Christmas, it developed into a full-blown UTI--extremely painful, peeing blood, horrible stomachaches and nausea. I was prescribed a heavy dose of Levaquin and sent on my way. It cleared up quickly, and I took care to drink cranberry juice twice a day and take acidophilus. My boyfriend came to visit on New Year's, and since I was feeling okay, we had sex. The next day the stomachache returned, and the UTI was back.
I have a chronic yeast infection that the doctors, after years of trying, can't fix. The infection causes bleeding every, and I mean every, time I have sex. Guys won't stick around for that. Nobody likes to give oral to yeast. And masturbation is getting old. How am I supposed to deal with this!?!
Dear Dr. Betty,
i have had numerous yeast infections over the last year and had trouble keeping sexual arousal when touched by my own hands or a partners, i tend to experience itching or even discomfort when i used to have increased pleasure. no doctor has found any problems with stds etc. i have always had issues with allergies and sensitive skin, and it appears that this may be a similar issue. what do you recommend to be able to enjoy sex and/or masturbation when it just adds to itching or discomfort?
