For Halloween: Carnival of Souls

I love Halloween; it is my time of year to howl, and I did just that last night. (Oh, my aching head!) I got a little too personal with the pavement in my inebriated state, and I am now sporting a bump on my noggin. Och! When will I learn I'm too old for this kind of shit (shakes head).

Our Annual Halloween Ritual

Every Halloween Betty hosts a party in honor of Samhain - the "Celtic New Year".  My favorite part is our annual ritual. 

Everyone brings a photo of an ancestor who has been especially loving or helpful - and a piece of paper to write down what we want to let go of for the coming year.  We all sit in a circle and each of us announce our ancestor, what we wrote down on our piece of paper, and then we burn it.
