What are the Alternatives to Kissing & Intercourse?

Hi, Betty.

I have herpes--genital and oral. In addition, since I had my tubes tied about 5 years ago, I get my period about every 21 to 25 days. This was never an issue before. I was married, but am now separated and in a new relationship.
Although at 42, there's nothing I can do about my increased period frequencies, since I became sexually active again, my herpes breakouts have been increasing. Now my problem. My boyfriend doesn't have herpes. He and I usually only get to spend time together on the weekends. At this time, I have my period and a herpes breakout on my lip.

We both love kissing the other so the herpes is putting a damper on that. We've also decided that neither of us likes sex during my period. If you have any alternatives to kissing and intercourse, I would really appreciate the feedback. I don't find anything on the net that is helpful.

Thanks for your time!!!

As a person who grew up with oral herpes I can relate. Back in highschool when kissing was about all we could do, I wisely added manual sex as I layed across my boyfriend in the front seat of his dad's yellow Dodge. As I leaned into his erection wrapped in his arms, he very delicately played with my teenaged pussy. Hugging and body contact is a great substitute for kissing. Get my book, Orgasms for Two and check out all the other ways couples can share orgasms. One of my favs is each person masturbating themselves while taking turns verbalizing a sexual fantasy or watching porn lying side by side.
