How Can I Have a Vaginal Orgasm?

Hi Dr. Betty,

I actually have a question for you. I've been having trouble finding an answer to this question on the internet, and was wondering if you could give me some insight on it. I find myself not able to have an orgasm per vaginal penetration, so my boyfriend has a difficulty giving me one and is getting a little frustrated and I am too. The only orgasm I can seem to give myself is clitoral with a vibrator, sometimes with this penis. Maybe you can give me some tips on how this can be achieved. Also, one more question if you could...When I do have an orgasm with my vibrator, it only lasts 3 seconds, is that normal?? I would love any advice you can give me.

Thank you!

K

Dear K,

Welcome to the Clitoral VS Vaginal Orgasm Club. Most women cannot have an orgasm through vaginal penetration alone no matter what Freud or any other guy or sex therapist says. Although a handful of women can experience vaginal orgasms, they are definitely in the minority and the orgasm is still due to some form of indirect clitoral stimulation. Get my book “Orgasms for Two” where I discuss this in detail. In the book, I show positions where a woman can use her vibrator for clitoral stimulation while her partner focuses on penetration and the dance of partnersex.

Most orgasms only last a few seconds but there’s nothing to stop a woman from continuing and having more. At least, continue stimulation after you come by lightening up a bit and moving the vibrator off of your clit for a moment. You will enjoy some after shocks of pleasure and then if you feel like it, go on to have another orgasm and another.

Betty
