I did but now.....
I started using menstrual cups a few months ago and I love them! My cramps seem to be lighter and I love not having to think what size tampon I will need and when I will have to take it out. But I maybe getting an IUD and I've found out that I will have to give up using menstrual cups, and that has made me think even harder about getting an IUD. But I will get an IUD if that means I don't have to take a pill everyday. I'm really sad to have to put my menstrual cups away but I know what I will be using when I no longer have an IUD.
Why not?
I'm curious as to why a lot of women voted no. Why not? I'm sad I spent so many years using, buying and disposing of tampons and would NEVER go back. Not even once.
RE: Mama Sings
Some people could consider it a hassle or messy. In my experience, it is a lot quicker to pull a tampon out, drop it in the toilet, and insert another one than it is to use a reusable menstrual cup. Also, some women just aren't comfortable "dealing with blood" so closely. When you use a menstrual cup, there's a high chance you'll get blood on your hands, especially when reaching in and rotating to create suction. None of these things are desirable in public restrooms, lol.
Diva Cup
I have been using a Diva Cup since June 2007 and love it!
Menstrual Cup
Have been using a Moon Cup for about 6 years. Just doing my bit for the planet. Also my daughter who's 10 (not bleeding yet) said she will use this method when her cycle is established.
I switched to a Divacup
I switched to a Divacup (www.divacup.com) last year, and it completely changed my life. Combined with pantyliners from Lunapads (www.lunapads.com), I often completely forget that I have my period!
me too
I switched to a Mooncup (http://www.mooncup.co.uk/) about 2 years ago and have never regretted it. Fewer cramps, shorter periods and no tampons in landfill, it's fab!
I went Diva a few years ago,
I went Diva a few years ago, and I honestly could NEVER imagine going back. Plus I really love knowing exactly how my cycle works to the very amount I lose in a period. Slightly odd, but its helped a great deal in knowing my body and especially knowing when something is wrong.
Also, how could I EVER go back to tampons, when the Diva shortened my period by two days.
glad I did
I'd never switch back to using tampons and pads. Probably my favourite part about it is never "running out" of something or having to go to the store to buy a new box every month. It's just waiting for me in my sock drawer whenever I need it.
Diva Cup = divine
I love my diva cup! Took a couple cycles to figure it out, but I love that it makes me feel in sync with my body. Dumping it out, the blood makes a rich swirl in the toilet... beautiful. Has definitely lightened my backpack when traveling, too.
I would...
... if only they were available here in Poland.
Yes!
I already have. Well, I use cloth menstrual pads, but I don't use disposable products anymore.
