vulva/nipple coloration

just curious... ladies... does the color of your skin on your nipple/areola match the color of your inner labia?  i read that when women who lose their breasts due to breast cancer need nipple reconstruction, they use skin from the labia/vagina because it is similar in color and texture to the nipple/areola... so I'm wondering if this is actually true...

my nipples/areolas are pretty much pink, and my inner labia are almost exactly the same color... is that pretty much the norm? the nipples match the labia?

i'd like to know... just a general curiosity

Seems like a good guess, although some women have variations of color on their labia. For example, I have noticed some women have dark edges on their labia, while some women don't. In those cases, it would be tough for nipples to match that gradation of color.

Also, during a pregnancy, a woman's nipples will darken (permanently). I don't believe that labia do the same thing.

I bet that nipples and labia do match in many cases though... but certainly not all.
