Has anybody heard about this yet?

I'm writing a letter to my MP, and putting this out there for any other UK boardies to see in case they don't know about it.

I think it's absolutly disgusting, abstience sex education made me so afriad of sex that the first time I had intercourse with a man (well I say man complete douchebag is a better description but that's another story) I tensed up because I felt disgusting and wrong and ended up with so much vaginal tearing that it put me off sex for a LONG TIME, I can't beleive they think it's ok to shame another generation of girls into thinking anything remotley sexual is wrong. :(

Thanks for this, Yes wheres

Thanks for this, Yes wheres the bill to address people who have a slim grasp of the concept of consent and pressure people into having sex, and why is it women who must take responsibility, where are the lessons for her supposedly horndog boys.   I watched her motion and her wish to give girls the empowerment to say no is well intentioned, but she needs sexually educating herself. If she was, her bill would be called the sexual empowerment bill and place a requirement to empower people with the appreciation of consent at infant school age to both protect them and instil a respect for other peoples sexuality  and later teach the more complex skills to say no and exercise choice. Because her own sexual education is so poor she doesn't realise that knowledge is the key to empowerment. But I agree with her only to the extent that if support for people who want to say no isn't present in sex education, then it should be and it probably is if (from the pamphlet extract she read out) the value of masturbation is being taught.
She's a perfect example of what happens when sex education is very poor and we have whole generations of adults who are kind of sexually illiterate including me before I went online. Thanks for posting this I'm going to write to my MP too.
