it's interesting being in the position I'm in. I see the whole world from such a different perspective. I know one thing: I'm here because of my own efforts. I sought out Betty. We connected. We're brilliant. And there's nothing anyone else can say to diminish that.
You mean nothing. My users mean everything. I'm so fucking sick of being diminished. Fuck you! And in the end if it was all about you I wouldn't be here celebrating my freedom. God damn it I'm ready to take on the world. yay for me. Sorry for you. Such a disappointment.
I wonder if it's about that
I wonder if it's about that same person from back when I first joined...
Anyways, as I recently explained to a friend, everything is an illusion. Your pride and dignity can never be stolen from you, they can only be given up willingly. Nobody can hurt you without your participation, without your perception that what they say actually means something and isn't just some spiteful jackass being all spiteful and jackassey. And who you are, the things you've done, it's not about your upbringing, or the expectations of society, or education or religion. It's about choice. Your choice.
You could have let what he said (it is him, isn't it?) get to you, you could have chosen to be hurt by it. Instead you chose to perceive it as hot wind from between the cheeks of an asshole.
You could have lived a different life, gone with 'the program', played the game, and done what was expected. But you didn't. You chose this life, you chose to become this person, to do the things you've done and fight for something you believe in. You chose.
And I'm glad you did. :P
Abstinence makes The Church grow fondlers.
What's Up With That??
Wow girl! Were you going for a powerful self-affirmation or did someone seriously piss you off?
We need people who see the world from a different perspective and we only become diminished if we allow it to happen to ourselves. We cannot live our lives for or place our self-worth on what any other single person or group of persons thinks about us. The only person you should care about disappointing is yourself because you will go crazy trying to make everyone else happy and you never will - because they are not you! To me it is all about me even though I have others that I care for (and would do anything for) and to you it must be all about you. If it were not that way each of us would only be going through the motions and it would be only about existing and not about the bliss of existence.
So Carlin, take it on and celebrate your role in your world as if it were the end all, be all - because it is - to you!
