Hi there,

 

Here is an article on sex addiction.  Would you masturbate three times a day if you could without causing issues to the rest of your life?  Would you like to watch porn if it wasn't so upsetting to your partner?  Does Tiger really feel bad about the sex, or is it because he got caught and began losing his sponsors?  If he wasn't married, I'm sure that things would have just continued on.  JFK had sex because he could, and so did Bill Clinton.  And apparently Johnson was worse than both of them, which doesn't get mentioned as much.  Well, apparently it was ok to have a lot of women in the old testament (check out Solomon), but not today!   I actually think that humans are very opportunistic when it comes to sex, and there are some who are good at finding it, and there are some who have been brainwashed that sex is bad and so restrain themselves, using the myths of religion and the Victorian age to repress their natural instincts.  The behavioural data backs up humans as opportunistic in sexual matters, both for male and female, and the "higher ranked" males and females take the opportunities more than the lower ranked.  So, isn't it really a matter of sexual jealousy creeping in here?

Before you dismiss my post because it says sex addiction doesn't exist read and listen to two pieces. They are from people who haw more expertise in those matters than I will ever have.

Sex addiction is a very good excuse for appalling behavior and simply waiting your life out. A man is spending almost all income on prostitutes in stead of his children's education - he's ill. He can't help it. A woman would rather stay all day with the HMW near her clit than look for ways to pick up her education she abandoned after marriage. Poor thing. She's ill. A teen would rather spend an evening on RedTube than study for better grades. He's addicted!

Religious right is using sex addiction to shame people into submission. Notice the guidelines are constructed in a way that anybody wondering if s/he's normal finds out s/he's mentally ill. Just because s/he likes sex.

Humans are designed to like sex. They are also designed to seek confirmation that what they're doing is right. They want to do what the herd is doing. Because that many people can't be wrong, can't they? Freethinkers are rare and few between. Moreover there's been a tendency for hundred of years to consider pleasure as something harmful instead of nourishing. No wonder we have so many "sex addicts".

I love sex with my wife and I very much enjoy my masturbation. I do both.

Though I definitely masturbate more than have sex with my wife since it only takes one to "tango".

But regular solo sex makes me want more partner sex and vice versa, and I think that is good.

I agree. When those who view sex as the ultimate expression of connenction and love are labeled by those who are sexually repressed or controlled by others (ie.religion), as sex addicts, then judgment comes in all forms.  When we can accept and celebrate (FULL DISCLOSURE COUPLES!) each others sexual tastes and appetites then comes no judgement and a chance to really show our love fully by (sharing with and) wanting for our partners what THEY want which can only enhance our love and our lives. 

I've had the notion that 2 women fully in love (including sexually), could indeed choose a male mate to come into covenant.  I see that women have a natural tendancy to work well together over their competetive  male counterparts.  Anyone have any studies on successful plural marriage with the women fully engaged with each other FIRST? And THEY pick a husband TOGETHER? It makes sense to me for a number of reasons.  1. Sexually, our needs are more frequent, if we can satisfy each other it leaves more time to satisfy our mate(him) TOGETHER.  2. I believe the data shows the number 1 fantasy for men is two women (whether engaged with him or themselves) for sexual pleasure.  3. Because of the desire of men for anal play, there would be two lovers which would give time for anal rest for each, as frequency can lead to all kinds of health issues.  4.Economically, 2 females would be able to run a household with less financial strain than one single (or single mom) if both are working and COMMITTED  to the relationship.  What do you say girls?

I don't actually believe in sex addiction. I think it's just the latest conservative attempt to make people fear sex and intimacy. A fearful population is easier to control than a laid-back one. And if people view one another as potential lovers instead of enemies then we wont be flocking to a political party giving them power and authority over us to save us from the boogeymen. Besides, if the latest worry is addiction to sex, then surely big business has a solution available for the low price of $49.99 if you order now! Gimme a break. :)
