Nipple Piercing?

I have been considering having one, maybe both nipples
pierced for quite sometime. I wondered
if any of the women on this forum have had theirs done and their experiences?

I am not particularly squeamish about the actual piercing
per se but I am concerned about aftercare, healing and any problems
difficulties. I assume small studs
don’t cause a problem with bras or catch in bed for example? If I have both done, should I have them
done at the same time?

Obviously I can, and have, Googled this but there is nothing
to beat first hand experiences and as far as I am aware, I do not know any
women who have had theirs done.

Have them done!

Thank you for your help on this one.  As a matter of courtesy, I thought it only right to let you know what I have decided. After weighing everything up I have concluded not to have my nipples done at this stage.  Maybe I will revisit this in the future but for now I propose to remain a coward as I think the risks/potential problems are too high!

Shame, as I would have liked the end result and the surprise on people's faces at first sighting.

Best moonlit wishes.  xx

I have had my nipples pierced twice- well, the first time I only had one pierced, took that out and let it heal and then had them both pierced a second time. Let me see if I can answer as many questions as possible here.

I originally had the one pierced as an experiment to see if it would make that nipple more sensitive as have just about no sensation in my nipples at all. After it healed (about 6 months) I did not experience any more sensitivity. I ended up taking it out because I started dating a guy who didn't like it, then had them repierced after I broke up with him as sort of a "fuck you". I really liked the way they looked and that's probably the only thing they really did for me.

I did end up taking them out again after about 2 years because the right one never healed properly and I wanted to be "even" so I couldn't keep the other one in. I have extremely sensitive skin and problems with healing in general... I don't know what was up with that nipple as I have had other piercings that all healed eventually, but I was sick of dealing with it. It was the same nipple as the one I had had pierced on it's own once before, so that could be why it didn't want to heal.

I found that having barbells (which I would assume is what you are referring to when you say "small studs") actually caused me to get the jewelry caught on things more often than rings. I never got them caught in bras or anything like that though- it was always in the shower with a loofah or towel. I usually remembered to be careful but sometimes would forget. It didn't cause any serious damage when I did that, just hurt a little bit.

So I would say to just be aware what type of a healer you are if you do decide to get them. If you're willing to put up with more hassle than it seems like you should have to for a piercing, then go ahead and do it. Get them done at the same time because it doesn't really matter if you do and I think it looks better when they're both done. Follow all the aftercare instructions the piercer gives you to a T because you will heal better and faster. The only thing I disagree with piercers about sometimes is the use of a harsh anti-bacterial soap; most of them will say not to because it dries out the piercing, but I have found with my sensitive skin that it actually helps me a lot to use a harsh soap once a day and doesn't dry out the piercing too much.

Good luck and have fun with them!

I'd been thinking about it, too, and wondered the same things.  I had problems with my ear piercings years and years ago (one of them took like a year to completely heal).  I suppose that could happen with nipples, too.  So, women who have done it, please respond.  Inquiring minds want to know.
