Bloomberg is my Hero

At the behest of Softlord, I've created a section specifically for news items - since we're all so political and love to share our opinions.

I caught this piece in the Post today and my heart lept with joy. Mayor Bloomberg has earmarked $600,000 in support for a NYC clinic where teens can gain access to STD counseling, birth control counseling, and the morning after pill.

Now I know that this is controversial. But kids need to have someone out there telling them about STDs and giving them the ability to control their lives.

60% of teen pregnancies aren't planned and children born to teen parents are twice as likely to be born into poverty, have limited access to medical treatment, and drop out of high school.

Shouldn't we attack the problem where it starts...uneducated, resentful parents who feel like the didn't have a chance to live their lives?
