I enjoyed this article because it contained some useful information and stopped short of societal judgement tho some of the links clearly view older sexualtiy within the constraints of monogomy.  Infidelity may be biological but we just gotta fix it!! -->(please note this last sentence is meant to be amusing sarcasm)

the article also touches on the fact that female libido decreases after the cougar years but many other studies show it's an either/or proposition; menopausal women tend to be either not interested or more interested in sex...so use it or lose it gals...

finally in reference to the last paragraph, I think another why is the whole sexual revolution of the 60's and 70's.  The current crop of cougars were young girls during that time so it was a major influence factor good or bad during their formative years...note the study was exclusively an American sampling.
