Better Orgasms. Better World.
I thought we should go against the grain for today's post and feature a male porn actor who I would consider a more mainstream porn performer, at least when compared to the porn I usually post. Yet, if his blog is any indication, his thoughts on pornography, sexuality and his role in both are not what I would consider mainstream or what I would've expected.
I was introduced to Danny Wylde's work via Tristan Toarmino's film Rough Sex. If you recall, the film was not my style, but I did feel as though Wylde was the best
performer in the film, and definitely went against what I would have expected from a male porn actor. His performance lacked the alpha male arrogance that often accompanies a male porn performance. I was intrigued by his willingness to participate rather than just perform.
These qualities prompted me to do a bit of googleing for more info on Wylde's other works. I found a sweet interview and Wylde's very well written and informative blog. In the blog he talks about issues with performing, sexuality, health etc. that have come up for him over the years. The blog was an especially wonderful find because I have been looking for a serious and thoughtful (and sometimes humorous) take on the pornographic film industry from the point of view of an actual performer.
I highly recommend you take a look at Wylde's blog, especially if you have issues with most mainstream pornography. I'm still working my way through his writings, but so far I recommend the posts entitled Ethics Part I and Straight Edge Porn Star
