Sluts Require a High Level of Cultivation

Slut\ sluht\ –noun

1. a promiscuous person especially a woman.
2. a prostitute.
3. a slovenly dissolute woman.

Slut I am indeed, I can check all the boxes.

Promiscuous; check
Woman: check
Prostitute: check (I include my webwhore status in this definition)
Slovenly: oh wait a minute… nope definitely not slovenly these days.

Though I’ll admit as a rampant adolescent slut I could have checked this box but that had more to do with my age than the fact I liked to fuck…a lot. In fact, I think these days if I were slovenly I couldn’t maintain being a slut as happily as I do. Who can truly let go and revel in getting their cunt licked and sucked to orgasm after orgasm when they know their cooch hasn’t been washed within the last 12 hours???  Who can wallow in the abandon of regular pounding anal sex session without an enema first? Who can have lots of sex utilizing all holes and the clitoris and avoid painful UTI’s and infections without a high level of personal TLC and hygiene?

No one I contest. Sluts just can’t be slovenly…in fact I put forward that sluts require a high level of cultivation… if they’re in it for the long haul. A healthy happy slut needs to know and care for herself very well. A slut needs good balanced nutrition to maintain health, happiness and thus her libido. A slut needs exercise to up her dopamine and serotonin levels (libido again), her endurance, to keep her flexible, agile and strong all her slutty life. Last but not least a slut needs an education to protect her and defend her from the hegemonic sex negative cultural rhetoric that would tear her down if it could.

So…it seems to me the dictionary definition of slut requires an addition

4. A deviant yet sexually empowered human of notable health and education.

I’m an Australian currently living in Amsterdam for 2011. Amsterdam is to host a SlutWalk on the 4th June in support of the Toronto SlutWalk [http://www.slutwalktoronto.com/] that happened this month in response to a police official suggesting that tired old bullshit expression that if women dressed less like sluts they wouldn’t get raped. Urrrggghhh. If I were a man I would be deeply insulted by the insinuation that my gender is completely incapable of not raping a woman and will turn into a rapist merely at the sight of some cleavage or a pair of legs.

If I were a man I would be deeply insulted that as a man I am thought so devoid of any hope for not being a rapist that it’s not even worth trying to approach the issue from that perspective. Come on! Why is this not being addressed as a sex education issue? It’s about time that high school sex ed had a total overhaul to deal with the reality of human sexuality but failing that at the very least included an extensive DON’T RAPE section for all to attend. So the responsibility is no longer dumped on the people with no control over the act to try and put allegedly innate male rabid rapist tendencies off…if they can.

I dress like a slut because I am a slut. I am proud of it too. I like to acknowledge that I am a sexual woman. I am not amoral. I am not dissolute. I do not deserve or invite rape. I’m highly ethical, educated and I shall be there at the SlutWalk with it all hanging out.

As I'm male

Sat, 04/30/2011 - 21:07

As I'm male I prefer to dump the word and never use it to describe anyone and like a few other uncool notions I relegate  the whole slut stud version of sexuality to  a very occasional  playful notion that only serves to sexually inspire me to orgasm.

But as lots of other people use slut, if the people it describes  want to own it and redefine it in the public consciousness to mean something much more accurate and personally respectful that's great. I like to celebrate the diversity of sex and don't like the notion of sexual deviancy (because it perpetuates the notion of a norm) unless it's a playful notion either :) so yeah I love your amended definition and I would change it slightly to

4. A sexually adventurous and empowered human of notable health and education.

In my own headspace the word has no place because here female sexuality is enjoyed as something amazing and even when surrounded by notions that are very very naughty :) has no shame.

BTW Li, great to have you blogging here.

You are hot!
