Better Orgasms. Better World.
This weekend marks the beginning of a huge annual tantra event held up in Sedona, Arizona.
People often describe Sedona as "the national park that people live in." Sedona's that beautiful. It's spring here, and the tantra event attracts people from all over the world. We come to connect, play, and share our ideas about "sacred sexuality."
I come for the sheer fun of it all. It's an intense oxytocin high for the entire weekend, and I love it.
Personally, I'm not into the whole "sacred" idea regarding sex because of the subtext here - that there is somehow un-sacred sex. And, with all of the spoken, and unspoken rules and laws of tantra, it can often start looking more like born again christianity mixed with certain types of sex.
Sacred sex is just a myth that people tell themselves for various reasons - many of which are ladened in religious or spiritual shame, guilt, or misunderstanding.
That being said, it's really fun to play and interact with such a diverse, sex postitive group of generally fun people. The days are packed with talks, and the nights are flowing with dances, performances, hot tubs, and play parties.
It's like rainbow festival meets sex in the city - but with red rocks all around.
I'll be guest speaking here twice, as I lead people through an intensely, hypnotic, erotic journey of brain and body. Within the first hour, I usually have the whole group whipped into an orgasmic frenzy. It's quite a sight to see. Sometimes, over a hundred people are laughing, crying, screaming, coming.
I'll be blogging about my insights and experiences from the weekend, and sharing them with you over the coming weeks.
sex positive
I am 49 years old and only now allowing myself to open up to the sexual person I truly am. I've been in a sexually repressive marriage now for 25 years and although the sex has been little to non-existence I still continue to learn more about all aspects of sex. Lately, I have been coming in more contact with sex-positive people....definitely a fun and fascinating group of people. That weekend in Sedona sounds wonderful and look forward to your notes from the Sacred-Sex Seminar.
