"People Don't Die Of Old Age. They Die Of Neglect" and Stress

This is one of the best fitness quotes I've ever heard. Spoken by Jack Lalanne. He's the juicer guy who's 93 and still doing pushups with his arms over his head. I can't lift myself into the starting position for that!

I decided a while back that I want Jack's model for my future. I want 32 to be a snot nose brat compared to what I'll be at 72 and beyond. Here's another article from mercola.com that focused on this extraordinary individual and paths to wellness.

One big reinforcement I got from this is "Think Positively." We hear that a ton in every Hallmark card we see, but I'd like to be more specific with how that applies to me and how it may help someone out there who runs with similar mental patterns.

I will often times have a thought about some situation in my life that's stressful. What I did then was blow the thought up into a dramatization, so to speak. The reasoning behind it is to prepare myself for if or when that day comes with that confrontation or issue, I'll be practiced and ready. Another reason is it helps shore up your morale or make you feel like you conquered a currently unresolved or residually painful situation. Problem is, they say the mind and its thoughts and perceptions create most of our stress loads and frequently over issues that may never happen or happen as badly as we imagine them. Those thoughts create stress responses in your body because the body can't tell the difference between real and imaginary as compared to the mind. It also works in reverse; we fantasize hot sex and the body gets turned on. What I'm talking about is when we go in a negative direction.

The mind can create these thoughts and reenactments/dramas for entertainment purposes as much as educational, as was told to my by a teacher of mine. Thinking positively is more than just entertaining yourself with positive content. It's not running negative loops or dramas that upset you. I deal with the issue as much as I can in the present and file it until it comes up in the present. I cant tell you how many times I've stressed over something that turns out to not be true or applicable or even happens. Constant stress debilitates and kills. This is one way I've reduced mine dramatically. Takes practice... and so does other good things. ;-)
