With all the sad and crazy things going on recently, here in America, as well as the rest of world (that seems to have gone utterly mad!), I'd like to shift focus onto something that many people find enjoyable: masturbation.

I have been a fairly avid masturbator ever since I first discovered it's amazing properties as a kid.

I doubt that I am all that different from most men and women, but I would almost bet that I have masturbated far more often, than I have ever gotten laid. After all, masturbation is so easy to do. I have masturbated in all sorts of different places, and in all sorts of different times in my life. I have never grown tired of going solo.

There is always something fresh about it. I have sat with my cock in my hand, stroking it, teasing it, goading myself towards a climax (and then stopping to let the urgency fade just a tiny bit before resuming) countless times; and I always enjoy all the many sensations (and thoughts) that are associated with it. I always feel better afterwords. I always feel the prior tensions of the week drained away (literally, as well as figuratively).

Masturbation is a great way of getting in-touch with your deepest personal thoughts and desires. While masturbating, you can let all those pent-up feelings loose, and acknowledge them, and without censoring them. Masturbation is the place where you can be completely free with yourself. That's worth a lot. Masturbation = Freedom!

This is definitely one of the biggest reasons Christians have such a problem with masturbation. The Bible clearly teaches that God is monitoring your every private thought and desire, and tallying them up to use against you on the day of judgment. The Bible teaches that there is such a thing as a Thoughtcrime! In reality, your thoughts are just your thoughts. A thought is neither right, nor wrong. It just IS. So, to allow yourself the freedom to think and feel whatever it is that turns you on(!), is a tremendous gift to yourself.

Masturbation is where I eventually began the process of leaving my own Christian faith behind me. The more I masturbated, and the more I liked it (as well as liking the thoughts that were often associated with masturbating), the more I came to realize that it was actually perverse to try and stifle my natural inclinations and desires; and that it had been the resistance of them that had made me the most miserable.

Masturbation for me was a way of waking up to my true nature as a human being. As I masturbated, and especially as I started paying closer attention to the numerous thoughts and desires that came and went in my head, I no longer wanted to try and purge them from me. In fact, I began accepting them as markers of a different sort of person than I had previously tried to force myself to be.

Beyond that, though, masturbation just feels good to do. There is no other justification than that! Masturbation is that special place where you interact more directly, and certainly more consciously, and deliberately, with your own deepest self; and there is a beauty to that. It is wrong to try and squash that part of who you really are inside! Most of us are constantly bombarded by the demands of Others, and so, it's nice to be able shut that out, for awhile, at least.

Not to fall into cliche', but masturbation shares a lot of similarities with that of meditation. That's the way I tend to approach it now days. Masturbation is the time that I devote only to myself. Like Betty has said, it's sex for one! Masturbation can be done with others, of course, but for me, masturbation is my private inter-sanctum; where I commune' with just ME. As over-used as it is, masturbation-time for me is that most "sacred" time in my otherwise busy, and harried life.
