Yes, the Great Emancipator and the first GOP president was in fact gay. He had a long running romance with Joshua Speed - his soulmate and the love of his life.

Maybe it was easier to be gay in the 1800s. Can you imagine Obama sleeping in bed with a man with Michelle next door? Fox News would have a field day. And the irony that the first GOP president was gay isn't lost on me either. Think it's time to legalize gay marriage?

I think the thing about this that annoys me the most? The automatic assumption that if he was having relationships with men he must be GAY. He had sex with men...and women...that makes him???? Bisexual!!! It wasn't like they just had one kid and it was all over...geez. That really pisses me off.
Men can be bisexual too you know.
