Better Orgasms. Better World.
It's all but assured that the Supreme Court will rule that gun possession is a fundamental right in a case being heard right now McDonald v. City of Chicago. The case is a legal challenge to state and local ordinances restricting gun possession - I'm sure you heard the chanter.
If all goes according to plan, Americans would be free to carry a registered gun into a bar, starbucks, the public library....just about anywhere except the airport. Basically, if the Supreme Court finds that the 2nd ammendment extends to local and state governments, ALL GUN RESTRICTIONS WILL BE NULL AND VOID.
WTF! How can the Supreme Court - in the same session - rule that states can restrict late term abortions but not gun possession? So you can back compulsory maternity, a form of rape by the state, but gun ownership is sacrosanct?
What kills me here is that the religious right, Congress, and the new homogenized Supreme Court have been challenging the fundamental right to privacy (which covers birth control, abortion, the right to have gay sex - marry outside your race etc) and slowly chipping away at our basic freedoms. It's ok to buy out the leases of clinics providing reproductive services and "smoke them out" of communities. It's ok to publish the address and daily whereabouts of abortion providers like George Tiller and harrass them until some lunatic guns them down in cold blood in their fucking church. It's ok for states to limit a woman's right to terminate a life threatening pregnancy WITHOUT ANY "SAVE THE LIFE OF THE MOTHER" EXCEPTION. But try and encroach on a man's right to own a gun and they'll do everything in their power to stop you even if it means shitting all over the constitution.
What a joke!
holy shit that's the
