Dear All,

yes, it is too white but that's not what struck me at first (I am, after all, so used to my skin tone being unrepresented it is pretty much expected): what I reacted to negatively was the disembodiment of body parts. We are so used to being spliced and diced by advertisers that sex has been reduced to body parts rather than expanded to include the whole person. I think I may have said as much in a different post on another topic.

This Ad does nothing to help reduce the commodification of sex and the 'mystery' that surrounds the image of the vulva. I also note that semen flows with not an erect penis in sight - not that it matters as the whole philosophy behind the Ad is, anyway, illconceived. I do at least agree with the purpose.

best wishes

I forgot to say that the only whole person, the woman (I know it's meant to be a man but s/he looks more female than male to me) inside the condom, is encapsulated in latex and unable to communicate with the world s/he inhabits. Moreover, the Ad places all responsibility on that 'woman' to stay in her latex prison whereas, as we know, the real challenge is to get young men to be more responsible; the lack of a strong male identitiy for the condom wearer submits to the notion that real men dont use condoms. There's a thesis in here somewhere... the more I think about it, the worse it gets.
