The new HBO comedy series about a feminist icon who attempts to reignite the movement by starting a sexually explicit magazine for women? Hello! The writers must have been on our website for inspiration.

Betty Dodson is the icon who attempted to help feminists become more sex positive back in the seventies. She devoted a large part of her career teaching women about orgasms. When Ms. Magazine requested an article on the subject of masturbation, she met with Gloria Steinem to discuss her first draft. Gloria told her it needed to be more academic, cite some statistics AND no four letter words. According to Betty she opened her piece with a poem about a woman discovering her cunt. Oops! That didn't fly, but, as Betty so aptly put it, "I was a product of the sixties sexual revolution when cunts and cocks were loved and enjoyed for pleasure".

The other day Betty and I ran into Gloria at a restaurant and we went over to say hello.
