A Vulva on Your Eye Shadow

The first image is a vulva stamped eye shadow compliments of Bitch Slap cosmetics.  Congratulations for celebrating our sex organ...using the term "vulva" BUT doesn't it bear a strong resemblance to Betty's cunt flower series?

*sigh* I still love this line because it educates women unabashedly.  Thank you, Bitch Slap.

So Refreshing to See Men Touch

I love this picture of Jason Momoa sneaking up on Henry Cavill and embracing him.  Here they are at a red carpet appearance for their roles in Suicide Squad, smiling without a shred of homophobia.

She Had Me at "Science"

I'm so fucking excited - I can't wait to cast my vote for Hillary.  Below is the link for her one hour speech.  I know it's long but it's history:

She will guarantee women equal pay and access to contraception.  And she "believes in science".  <3

Alice Brine Breaks Down Consent = Brilliance

This is motherfucking brilliant.  Thank you, Alice Brine, for this amazing analogy (and Rebekah for the link).  Sometimes you have to flip the tables to make a point.

For me, it all comes down to personal liberty.  Either we all have the right to be safe - our bodies and our property - or its a free for all.

Breastfeeding Your Toddler is Your Choice

I applaud Thandie Newton for posting this pic of herself breastfeeding her two year old with the caption, "This is what my body is made for. And the rest is my choice. #Freedom.".

Of course, the conservative blogs ripped into her, pixelating her breast where her child is latched on (not really sure why because there's no nipple. I had to go to Thandie's instagram page to find the original version) and calling her out for breastfeeding her two year old.

As if I needed another reason to love Charlize.  This photo was taken yesterday at the world AIDS conference.

Notice the button she's holding up that reads, "sex work is work".  *sigh*

The Power of Women Being Naked Together

Spencer Tunick decided to stage a photoshoot outside the Republican convention.  The only requirement was that you had to be a woman.

Here are 100 women holding mirrors over their heads - naked - as the insanity rages on.  I love Spencer's inspiration:

“The mirrors communicate that we are a reflection of ourselves, each other, and of, the world that surrounds us. The woman becomes the future and the future becomes the woman.”

It does seem that it's up to Western woman to save the world.

The real bodies...the female all remind me of Bodysex. Here are more pics.

The Official Betty Dodson Baby Pic

I love Betty's baby picture. Whenever we travel internationally and I fill out her passport forms, it's amazing to fill in "1929" as her date of birth.

Who would have thought that an iconic sex revolutionary would be born in Kansas almost 90 years ago. <3

Misogyny is a Hate Crime in the UK

This is fucking amazing. Officially, in the UK, misogyny ie mistreating, abusing, harrassing women is a hate crime

Misogyny hate crime is classed under the new policy as "Incidents against women that are motivated by an attitude of a man towards a woman, and includes behaviour targeted towards a woman by men simply because they are a woman."

Examples of incidents include:

Amanda Bacon: Motherhood Uncensored

I love this picture taken by Amanda Bacon post-birth of herself in a diaper.  Those diapers were the most annoying part of my recovery.  When you become a mom, you have to find your humor.

Here's the caption that went with her pic:

Every Woman Had an Orgasm

This past weekend we had our last workshop of the season. We were overbooked, had some last minute cancellations, and filled the slots from our wait list. The most amazing women sit in our circles - somehow the "right" women find their way to the "right" workshop.

We had women from Australia, Canada, Hawaii, the Northeast and the West workers, probation officers, students and a former nun. Betty and I were struck by the gifts and the strength of these women, how fortunate we are to call them sisters. I feel like I'm ruined for ordinary friendships because of the deep connections we create through Bodysex. The women who move forward with certification cross over into family.

Betty in the Goddess Pose

When the NY Times ran a story on Betty's sex parties, they had a photographer come by and take several photos for the piece.

I believe this was taken on her never ran...

Carlin Darling,
Without a doubt you know more about my past than any other person alive. So allow me to correct a minor detail here.
As we all know, the NYTimes has become the newspaper of the 1% but even in the 70's it was stll very conservative.

The photo was taken by Grant Taylor at miy friends house in the country to escape the phone after the article about group sex came oot. Sheila is behind me to represent the many armed goddess. Thanks for a quick trip in our time machine. And thanks for being my biographer.

Two Spirits, One Heart, Five Genders

I think we can all agree that our binary two-gender system leaves little room for personal happiness.  Strict gender roles are more than discrimination against the LGBT community.  The absolute masculine/absolute feminine dichotomy enslaves women, undermines relationships, and fosters self-hatred in our children.  No one is happy living in a culture where there's one ideal for all.

Because Opportunistic Rape Gets a Pass

We've all seen his picture and the slew of outraged FB posts over Brock Turner's 14 month community service/slap-on-the-wrist sentence for rape. It's the classic scenario of the white male athlete (attending Stanford) raping the passed out girl at the frat party and the "system" not wanting to "ruin" his life with a rape conviction.

A few things stand out in my mind.

First, it's racist. If she'd been raped by a boy of color, the cops would have shot him on the scene, there never would have been a trial, and they all would walk away scot free.

Alicia Keys Joins #nomakeup

I love Alicia Keys for posting this picture of herself with no makeup...I'm always wishing that celebrity women would allow themselves to be real to help girls develop positive body image AND here it is.

I'll admit that I looked into lasering away some sun freckles I have on my face.  I don't have alot of them but people comment on this one brown dot on my forehead and it makes me self-conscious.  Yes, I could laser it off twice a year for a few thousand dollars but why?  I'd rather spend the money on Grayson's education or a family vacation.

This image makes me feel better.  Thank you, Ms. Keys, for your honesty.
