The pictures on the left were taken during a girl's trip to Maui. Of course, when you're competing in a pageant you're in the gym every day...spray tanning...and restricting calories. But as soon as it's over you're on the beach with your girl sipping drinks and enjoying yourself au natural.
Wouldn't it be great if they could compete looking like average young women?

A little annoyed
Although I understand the intention in trying to show that natural and "average" bodies are beautiful, I think there comes a time when we as women have to stop judging other women's bodies so much. I get tired of seeing before and after pictures of women and reading which one other people think is more beautiful or better. I certainly don't want to see that on a forum that celebrates women and their differences.
Again, although I understand the intention, I find it annoying and disappointing. I don't think this sort of thinking, in terms of always having women's bodies scrutinized and judged, should be encouraged and I really feel like it's time we move forward. I understand that that's not really your aim, but I worry that unintentionally that is what the message is.
That being said, I am still, and will forever be a huge Betty and Carlin fan.

So what if they didn't look like that before. It wouldn't be a competition if just anybody could compete. Fact is that they worked hard to naturally look good and healthy to compete in a beauty contest.
