Better Orgasms. Better World.
Robyn Lawley started modeling at 16. Tired of managing her weight, she decided to become a plus-size model. She's a size 12.
After taking the heat for photoshopping a size 0 model to proportions that don't exist in nature, Ralph Lauren hired Robyn to star in their Fall ad campaign.
I think that's one of the best things about the internet. We covered Ralph Lauren's photoshopping scandal and so did every other major news site and feminist blog across the globe. With that many negative tweets, you have to take action.
Score one for body diversity.
Robyn Lawley and Ralph Lauren
I respect this woman for achieving a healthy, attractive body weight and resisting the pressures of her profession to stay unnaturally thin. I hope that Lauren hired her for the right reasons, and not just to take some of the pressure off his business. BTW, since when is a size-12 a 'plus size'? I've always understood a 12 to be around the size of an average woman.
Average = overweight :-(
It really is a pity that people are judged so harshly by looks over character in our society. Regardless of body size or shape, everyone deserves love and respect.
Mele, thanks
Mele, thanks. It's incredible that a healthy, curvy, typical woman would be considered overweight. Somebody who is a size 0 ought to disappear when she turns sideways! No wonder so many girls have eating disorders. Wider use of models of different sizes and shapes will help some. Unfortunately the beauty and fashion industries thrive on inducing women to spend huge amounts of money trying to overcome the insecurities that these businesses have deliberately created. As you say, everyone deserves love and respect regardless of appearance. I hope our society is getting a little closer to this.

America's Next Top Model has
America's Next Top Model has been casting healthy models recently, cycle 16 had 2. normally they only have one. There has been talk of a plus size edition although well see how that pans out. I think it's great to show that models are becoming more healthy it's a positive push from social media.
