Better Orgasms. Better World.
I've been thinking about Whitney since her death...something just didn't add up. I couldn't understand why someone so beautiful and talented would throw it all away.
I found an article written by Peter Tatchell and now it all makes sense. Whitney was gay. She was in love with her personal assistant Robyn Crawford (she's the woman with the blond hair). Whitney dedicated all her albums to Robyn - in Peter's own words:
"When I met them, it was obvious they were madly in love. Their intimacy and affection was so sweet and romantic.
They held hands in the back of the car like teenage sweethearts. Clearly more than just friends, they were a gorgeous couple and so happy together. To see their love was infectious and uplifting.
Whitney was happiest and at the peak of her career when she was with Robyn. Sadly, she suffered family and church pressure to end her greatest love of all."
That's when she married Bobbie Brown. Their marriage never seemed right. It was an odd decision but knowing that she was losing the love of her life - who the f*ck cares who you marry.
It was the early 90's - a time when people hid their real sexual orientation for the sake of their careers. With her beauty and talent, it seems crazy that she couldn't just live her life.
What a waste.
I wouldn't draw the
I wouldn't draw the conclusions you have from that article. It's possible she was gay, but we can't know that from one persons interpretation of what he saw.
It's also obvious that a lot of people in Hollywood/the music industry have a lot of problems, gay or not gay. And being beautiful and talanted has *absolutely nothing* to do with how good you feel about yourself or how capable you are of managing your life and welfare. That she was beautiful and talanted does not mean she had a good foundation to stand and build her life on.
Maybe she was gay, and maybe denying that was part of her problem, but we can' know. But if it was, it was probably not the only problem she had.
I'm not denying the pain of possibly denying your sexual orientation and loved one, but she has lived a very special life, was very young when she became a star and had a lot to live up to. Hollywood and fame in itself seems to be toxic to people's welfare, especially if you're young.
Yeah lets make sure this
Yeah lets make sure this doesn't happen again and with Ellen being so prominant in the USA I don't think it will outside of the fundamental religeous republitards part of US society .
Let's not jump to conclusions here..
There are many possible answers to what may have happened, but the point is: we can never know. We can't know how Whitney felt and I feel that jumping to such a conclusion is ridiculous, especially based on the evidence cited. Nor would it be a prudent thing to do, in my opinion.
Why wouldn't it be prudent?
