Lara Logan: The Women Enclosed Around Me & Saved My Life

I watched 60 minutes on Sunday to see Lara Logan's first interview.  Betty and I watched it together yesterday online.  This woman was almost torn to pieces - literally.  Their camera light went out, someone in the crowd yelled "she's a jewish spy", and her 25 minute torture began.

In the ultimate story of sisterhood, the women of Egypt saved her.  She was pushed through the crowd until she fell into a woman's lap.  She was wearing a chador so she could only see her eyes.  The group of women enclosed around Lara and protected her from the crowd.

When Betty watched the clip she looked at me and said, "this is sexual repression".   She's so right.

Curious thing to watch after listening to Hitchens' God is not Great. Those things will keep happening in countries where women are treated like property and when Koran gives explicit permission to take any non-Muslim women as a sex-slave. Or any non-Muslim man as an ordinary slave for that matter.
