Better Orgasms. Better World.
Ok. I am in a long distance relationship and when I do get to see my man I normally visit him a few days before my period to be safe. My periods are normal and usually on time but I've noticed since I've met him that the day after I first have sex with him my period comes on. And this weekend it came on a week early. Why does this happen? He is not hurting me. I am thoroughly enjoying it. I have multiple orgasms but things have had to be cut short now because my cycle starts usually the next day. So back to this weekend, it came on immediately after sex but then went away, we didn't have sex the next day and my period had seemed to stop, but the day after we had sex again and immediately my period came on. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? Thanks in advance.
Side Notes: When I am not with him my periods come on time. This has not happened with any other man not even with my ex-husband of 11 years. But with the guy I am currently with it is the first time I really enjoyed sex and it feels so good =)
Dear S,
I have no idea why you bleed consistently after sex with your lover. Unless it's because you enjoy it so much, he's really pounding inside and hitting your Oz (the mouth of the uterus). Orgasmic passion can mask pain. Many of us more liberated types, have sex during our periods. I used to put my diaphragm in to hold the blood back. The same is true for the gals now who are using the latex menstrual cups. We are usually more turned on during our periods. Maybe its hormonal and maybe it's because we think we can't get pregnant. Do some experimenting. If you suspect something might be amiss, a trip to your health care provider will end that concern. Meanwhile enjoy your great orgasmic partnersex! When it's good it's the best.

there are a lot of potential causes of bleeding after intercourse. Here's an article that describes the most common ones.
