The Right To Choose Motherhood Includes the Right To Experience Orgasm

I just read a great deal in OTI and one article that resonated was "Convictions to Action: Lessons from Margaret Sanger," by Gloria Feldt. I don't think many people know the story of how Margaret Sanger became the champion of birth control for women:

The defining moment came when Margaret was called to an overcrowded tenement to nurse a 28-year-old mother of three, Sadie Sachs. Sadie had been told another pregnancy would kill her. But when she asked her doctor how to prevent pregnancies, he callously replied, "Tell Jake to sleep on the roof."

Bitterly poor, weak from her last pregnancy, Sadie self-aborted. She got a raging infection (pre-antibiotics). She begged Margaret to tell her how to prevent pregnancies. Margaret shared what knowledge she had, but it wasn't much.

A few months later, Margaret was called back to the same house. Again, Sadie had self-aborted. This time, she died. Margaret walked for hours afterward, immersed in grief. She resolved that "women would have knowledge of contraception."

Today we continue to fight for our right to choose motherhood and I believe if Margaret were here to discuss this with us, she would recognize my crusade to help women experience orgasm during the act that gets us pregnant.

It continues to be my experience that far too many women blame themselves for their inability to enjoy orgasms during intercourse. After 45 years of pleasure activism the big problem as I see it is simply this: Society continues to follow the male model of sex based on that old fart Freud's ideas. I believe this is what most men think of as sex and it's what many prefer: Straight fucking with no clit action! It's easier, quicker and presents less effort.

Meanwhile, women continue to blame themselves for their lack of orgasm that continues to undermine their self-worth. We speak of "female empowerment!" How about including sexual empowerment with the knowledge of how women's bodies work. Similar to understanding the prevention of pregnancy, women need to know how to enjoy orgasms.

This is feminism's next step!

If women had to have orgasms

If women had to have orgasms to conceive, I estimate that the population would be about 3 maybe 4???? I used to feel that I was defective because I could not orgasm through penis/vagina intercourse. That is why this site and others where women feel comfortable expressing their sexual experiences are so important. I love my vibe, my fingers, my cunt and, of course, my orgasms.
