I'm a 20 year old virgin and and I feel a little bit of pain when I penetrate my vagina (I've only been able to get one finger in so far). I plan on getting your vaginal barbell but I was wondering...is it possible to gradually stretch the hymen instead of "breaking" it? Would the barbell do that?
And/Or can I push down on the membrane to stretch it?

Yes, many young women do just that. They stretch their hymen's during some kind of physical activity and are not even aware that it's happening. Go the section on the website under Barbell and read my directions on doing pelvic floor exercises. Pulling up and releasing the pelvic floor muscles into relaxation is important as well as pushing down. Be gentle and patient.
