Never Been Wet

I am a 25 year old girl who is in a new relationship. For the most part I am pretty healthy although I do smoke cigarettes. I am very turned on my my new boyfriend and we have hours of foreplay before sex. I can't get wet. I have never ever been able to get wet. I have had 7 partners and not one time have I ever gotten wet. I am very embarassed about this problem. My boyfriend thinks it's his fault like he's not good enough, I have explained to him that this isn't the case. I do use lube but don't really like that it gets sticky and we have to stop during sex to apply more. I am on Nuvaring birth control, could this be a contibuting factor? I am very upset about this. My past couple boyfriends thought it was very strange that I don't get wet and I am the only girl they've had that doesn't get wet!!! What's wrong with me?

There are many different kinds of lubrication's that enhance penetration sex. My favorite is the Sweet Almond oil sold in our sex shop. But if you are using condoms you must use a water based lube such as Carrageenan water based lube that is also sold in the store. Aloelife is another one we promote. I'd advise you to try them and pick the one that works best.

As for why you are vaginally dry I have no answer. However, it might be what you suspect, your Nuvaring. Google it and read what many women have said that is negative. I did not like what I read. When it comes to any pharmaceutical product, buyers must always beware. These big corps watch the bottom line of profit and we are the guinea pigs they experiment on.

As for embarrassment, please let it go. Don't continue to protect your boyfriend's ego. Just tell him it's your body and while you are investigating the source of the problem, he has to stop whining about it being his lack of sexual skills. I'd love to hear back from when you figure this out.

My wife has the same problem. From puberty on, she did not produce vaginal wetness. So we use lubricant. Our fave is Silk by KY, but we've also used flavored ones with oral sex in the mix. Don't worry, you're not the only one out there. Just enjoy.......

You know I hardly ever got wet in my 20's, and the amount of grief I got for it *sigh* I've had people look at me and go 'Why?' or 'I've never met anyone who couldn't get wet before' or 'Are you not turned on' - Comments which hardly put me in the mood.

Sometimes I'd feel myself dripping wet (while I was doing something to someone else), but the minute the attention turned to me I'd dry up.

I learned to love Lube very early on. Lubrication is amazing stuff and I can't imagine now how I ever managed to have sex without it. A couple of times I was caught in situations where I didn't have any lube and it was gutting, now I always keep a small sachet in my bag.

My preference is water based as I don't find oil or silicone to be as 'wet' in feeling. Also, if necessary I like to fall asleep without worrying about cleaning it off. I'm not a fan of flavours though I'm happy to use organic ones for oral.

Now I'm in my 30's I have to say that I'm a lot wetter now than I was at 25. I'm not sure if that's down to knowing my own body better, or my body just lubricating more. Whatever the reason, I like it.
