Betty Dodson with Carlin Ross
Better Orgasms. Better World.
I'm thrilled with the way Twenty-ten has started off! My art comes out of storage to be restored and photographed. My Sexual Memoir becomes an e-book online, and the Genital Art Gallery returns soon. Carlin and I are still madly in love with our website and traffic is heading off the charts with page views soaring. Praise the goddess of sexual love and abundance, we are a huge success!
Other good news is my Chi Gong healer Scot Vighi. I'm still not sure what Chi Gong means but I can tell you I've been getting some profound results from my sessions with Scot. He came up to me at a conference several months ago (I swear I called him in) organized by folks from the Sedona Temple. People attending were practitioners of all the Eastern healing arts including Meditation, Yoga, Tantra and other approaches to living a more spiritual healthier life. Scot's definition of spiritual is using our breath to inspire and heal. I always loved Yoga and practiced many of their breathing techniques. I'll never know why I stopped, but I did.
The Chinese, Eastern Indians, Tibetans, Native American Shamans etc., have been around a lot longer than a bunch of American cow boys with their horses, whiskey and women. I'm a cowgirl so I can spot us coming a mile away. It figures that we might learn a few things from other cultures and their ancient traditions. It sure beats hanging out with a bunch of Pentecostals like my Aunt Grace.
Anyway, for the past several years, I've been openly criticizing New Age folks as a bunch of romantic ninnies with their yonis and lingams instead of vulvas and penises. Hell, I prefer clits and cocks to those Indian terms. They must be masochists because I keep getting invited to their conferences to give them my perspective on how healers, sex coaches and therapists have to learn to talk plain. Like cut the Eastern crap and deal with American words. Along with the Yab Yum position where a woman gets on top of a man sitting cross legged, I want them to deal with masturbation more openly. Sex isn't just about heterosexual couples who are young and flexible!
What I love about Scot is that he throws in all the deities to express his spiritual concepts. He's got Mary, Jesus, God, Goddess, Krishna, Vishnu, Buddha- the whole lot of them including Kundalini. Cool! That makes me feel better than picking just one. The heading on his card is Breathworks. He is a Chi Gong/Reiki Master and has studied and practiced a myriad of other disciplines including fitness training, hypnotherapy, yoga, ninjutsu, theater, opera and he even knew about Gurdjieff, a very esoteric dude that intrigued me enough to study his system for two years. You might say I'm a non-believer with an open mind and a lot of curiosity.
Along with working on my Sciatica and lower back pain, I asked Scot to teach me a little Tantra Sex so I could refine my critique of it. Virgos are born to criticize but it's only because we want things to be better. Our session last night was outstanding! During Yab Yum practice (with clothes on) I discovered my breathing was reversed. I rock my pelvis forward open to receive and breathe in. I've been doing it like a Martial Artist who throws a punch with a strong exhale and a forceful sound HHAAAW! Scot asked me to lay down my sword and shield and receive! "Fuck that shit," I said. "I ain't surrendering to no one." I was joking of course but there's the truth.
To all my clients: when I teach masturbation and you are rocking your pelvis forward, I say inhale on the forward rock and exhale as your tail bone comes back down. That is correct. I just wasn't doing it myself. Now I have to figure out when the pelvic muscle squeeze comes in. I've only been doing this for forty years so it figures I have much more to learn.
Anyone interested in contacting Scot send me an email and I'll put you in touch. At first, I wasn't going to tell anyone about him and keep him all to myself. However, just like back in the seventies, when we found a guy who was a great lover, we shared him with our girlfriends. Scot is a great healer. I'm fortunate to have him in my life and I'm willing to share again.
