If all of America could hear and understand Keith's comments on health care, Big Pharma and mean-spirited Blue Dogs, they would storm Congress with baseball bats, pitch forks and Magic Wand vibrators. We will throw the bums out at mid-term elections. Meanwhile people are suffering needlessly.
Brilliant Television for Sick Societies
A brilliant piece of television. Here in the UK, many of us fail to see how the Republicans (and the dogs) can support such profiteering. Annually, our public, tax-funded NHS (National Health Service) costs $2,600 (£1,635) per person plus average private spend of $600 (£375) per person; $3,200 (£2,000) per person overall. For that we get guaranteed healthcare, free at the point of use, regardless of ability to pay or income level for every man, women and child in the country. And though not perfect, our health overall is not bad at all. The UK’s average life expectancy is 78.7 years.
In the USA, healthcare totals $2.26 trillion; $7,500 per person with an average life expectancy of 78.6 years.
So we live about the same length of time but here in the UK the cost is about half of that spent by the USA. So, support Obama, save over a trillion dollars a year and make sure all get treated free at the point of use. Whether by taxation or by private insurance, we still end up paying and we all end up dying. Who says socialism is inefficient?
Best wishes,
Chu
