He was the spokesperson for CIGNA one of the largest for profit insurance corporations. He has turned whistleblower and explains exactly what they are doing.

If you're not into reading here's the 10 minute video from Democracy Now.

Finally, here's the complete deconstruction of the Right Wing lies on the health insurance bill.

Dear Betty,

thanks for the links - a very interesting read. re my post in another thread, and it'll save a $trillion too if it's done well.

My only concern is that, as rationing will occur regardless of whether the system is public or private, it's pointless to deny it - simply because resources are always limited and possible treatments are unlimited as science and technology progress. The left wing response should not be that no rationing will take place but that, compared to the private sector, less rationing will take place. Otherwise, a fascinating insight into the debate in the USA for those of us lucky enough to have super-value and efficient public healthcare in the UK and elsewhere.

By the way, when parts of the UK's NHS were privatised, quality dropped and costs rose. Freedom of choice led to freedom to be treated badly and more expensively; ancilliary staff particularly were affected; their wages dropped, they were left understaffed and the difference was pocketed by the private sector while patients suffered the consequences.

stay healthly!
