DivaCup Giveaway

Submitted by Betty and Carlin

Betty and I have been all about menstrual cups after Betty described using her Diaphram to have sex during her period. They've been around since the 1930s and they're the "green" alternative to tampons and pads. If you don't know what a menstrual cup is or have a question here are the FAQs.

I contacted DivaCup to learn more about menstrual cups and our first cross promotion is the DivaCup Giveaway. Register for the site and post a comment here to enter to win a DivaCup AND a sex toy from Betty Dodson's toy chest.  Think Fun Factory  ;)

Guess what? I lost my Divacup a few months ago and I was thinking about getting a new one precisely today! I actually looked forward to getting my period, something I never did when I used tampons or pads. I demand I win the Divacup now! See-I make a good Diva!

I already have one...

But, I need a new one, as I've had it going on 4 years. Cloth pads have been my menstrual product of choice as of late. The DivaCup is one of the best things for women. In all honesty, I just really want the sex toy. :D

How exciting!

I think I'm more excited about the hand picked sex toy!! I've always wanted to try a diva cup though!

hooray for the Diiva Cup!

I fucking LOVE menstrual cups! I got a Diva Cup a few years back and left it at an ex-boyfriend's house. Then I got The Keeper? which i didn't like as MUCH, but in either case, left it at another ex's place(noticing a theme much?) i haven't gotten a new one yet, but i've been using my lunapads. I tell what what, though; i really do miss it. AND if i win, i promise to take a picture and send you guys the next picture i paint with my blood! :P

Periods just got a whole lot more exciting!

I've never used one, but I checked out the site, and they look too good for words! Menstrual cups aren't all that big here in the UK (at least not when they're educating you about different forms of menstrual products) they just tend to mention them and then gloss over them. Strange when they seem to be better than tampons (ooh no, perhaps not - tampons = more money!)

But yes, I'd love to get one. Even a hand picked sex toy! Golly, such pleasures you ladies give us!

I'm off to masturbate to celebrate this new discovery (even if I don't win one, I'm definately going to get one to try it out!) =D

gotta love the Diva!

i started using the Diva Cup several months ago and LOVE it! but would love to have a spare (hint hint) for travel, work, etc.

HOWEVER. Having intercourse with one in is NOT a possibility...it sits too low in the vagina. But there is a product called "instead" which fits more like a diaphragm closer to the cervix that allows for sex during your period.

But yes, i too, will confess, I WANT THE HAND-PICKED SEX TOY FROM DR. BETTY!!! Choose me, Choose me! (if Dr. B remembers my name & email, she'll know that I definitely deserve one, even tho i have a few already from her store...but what hot-blooded gal couldn't use a new friend ;-)?!

I would love to try one of the diva cups! I have a moon cup and like it a lot but have heard these are wonderful too. I love seeing exactly how much blood comes out every period. I like to empty it in the shower so it looks like a crime scene.

I just got a giggle out of your crime scene depiction. I've dropped mine on the floor before after removing it, had to leave and scramble to go get a towel, have my mom walk past my bathroom and scream "WHAT IS GOING ON IN THERE!? DO YOU NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL?!". Priceless.

I've known of these cups for sometime but I have avoided them, the scare me a little bit! I'm not sure if it because how foreign the design is to me, or the mess I am imagining already. LOL. The FAQ portion of the site answered nearly all of the questions I had and concerns about the DivaCup, and with all these women above raving about it, I've become curious. Not to mention, there obviously has to be something special about it to be mentioned!

Please consider me for the giveaway! ^_^

I'd love a divacup and a sextoy for my collection. I've loved your book, sex for one and it's been manhandled all over the campus at my comm. college. It started as a joke, but has since changed a few lives. win or no, Thank you!

Hmm, I left a comment here yesterday but it doesn't show up anymore.  Did I violate some terms of service?  In any case, I'm interested!

Curious..

I've done some research on the cup.. I want to try it but I have to admit I'm a little scared of putting it in. I'll find the courage though. Love this site!

I'm all about 'em. However, they didn't leave anywhere near enough room in my vagina for an additional penis, so they don't act *quite* like a diaphragm. That said, lord I'd love to win a Dodson-recommended sex toy + Diva Cup, as I left mine in a hotel bathroom.

Happy Hellidays, I love D&R!

I remember reading about a trial of a product like this when I was a teenager, and really wanted to try it, but could never find it anywhere I looked.  It's nice to know that they are still around, and I really wish I had one!

OH, AWESOME! Open to Canada?

Oh sure, I am a man, so I must have no use for this contest, right? Well.. I do! I have been talking to my girl about a Diva Cup for ever! She wants one, but thinks its too expensive (even though it totally pays itself off!) I have never seen one sold anywhere, or I'd probably have picked it up myself!

As for a hand-picked sex toy! WELL! Thats something we could both enjoy! I often look through the Sex Shop thinking of what might be great to try some day.

A totally awesome contest. I hope it IS open to Canada too. Is it?

Woohoo! That is such a relief! So many contests cut us Canadians out of the fun. Right on.

Now I just have to cross my fingers!

Sun, 12/06/2009 - 03:24

I've been pondering getting a DivaCup for a while now because they're so unwasteful. Unfortunately there isn't a place that carries them locally in my hometown. I'll cross my fingers!

Thanks Betty and Carlin!

Menstrual cups are awesome!

Mon, 12/07/2009 - 01:24

Menstrual cups are awesome! I got mine when I was 19, and converted all of the chicks I lived with (4 of them) by the time we graduated college. I need a new one though, and have never tried the diva cup (I used the keeper and lunelle). For anyone on the fence, it's really worth buying one even if you don't win the contest. That said... PICK ME!

oh happy day!

I'm 17 and used to hate getting my period. I felt like everyone knew I was on my period, like they could see the maxi pad through my pants. I had horrible back aches too and would feel like throwing up. after about 2 years of suffering silently with my hidden bottle of ibuprofen I started getting more curious about what caused cramps and why you got your period. I learned about the biological need to have a period and a lot of historical things about menstruation too. By the time High School biology rolled around i knew exactly how and why mensuration occurred. I stopped taking pain killers, stopped being grossed out and starting looking forward to getting my period.

Every time I go to the grocery store I look longingly at glad rags and DivaCups. I think having reusable period supplies connects you more with your body and helps you understand it.

I would be so happy if I got a DivaCup, I already love this website but it defiantly wouldn't hurt to win one!
